Summary of the NERG Meeting 11th April 2002

Our April Meeting was held to the Greenhills Community House Thursday April 11th and was well attended. The new venue is comfortable and would appear to be suitable until the future of access to the Watsonia barracks can be decided.

The meeting opened with discussions on our John Moyle Field Day venture to our usual site at Mount Macedon. We had about 12 people attend the weekend. This turned out to be a real fun weekend for all. There was much fun and good experiences had by all and it was decided we would return in 2003 The idea to meet at the Mount Macedon General store for breakfast then head on up from their was a winning move and sure to be "on the menu" next year. The final score is not available just yet but a meeting was organised to finalise the logs.

The star attraction for the night was Mark VK3BYY who gave us a marvellous practical talk and hands on instruction on VHF and UHF antennas. Marks talk covered the field and there was much interest in the various designs and models that were there to be examined. Gerhart demonstrated his quick deploy lightweight antenna and there were other designs and models from members.

The meeting closed with the usual hot drink, biscuits and discussions on Dxing, Dog-Piles etc.

Next Month's meeting will be on the 2nd Thursday in the month.
