About 20 members attended this the first meeting of the NERG for 2002. Due to difficulties with venues this meeting was held on Friday evening.

The meeting night - it was agreed that the Committee will be looking for a venue available on the normal Thursday night.

Secretary - Jim VK3DBQ is likely to take up the role as the treasurer of the Vic Div of the WIA and so has resigned from the position of Secretary of the NERG. Jim was warmly thanked for his contribution to the club and all members wished him well in his new role. The Committee announced the appointment of Mark III VK3XXX as the new Secretary - thanks Mark.

John Moyle field day - It looks like we will receive approval for the club to operate from our normal site this year - planning is under-way - if you want to take part please let Greg VK3VT know at vk3vt@nerg.asn.au , Further details see FIELD DAY PLANNING.

IRPL - Mark VK3XXX gave a quick run down and demonstration on the operation of IRLP via the VK3RMH repeater.

The meeting thanked the efforts of the small team that assembled and installed the new 6 Metre beacon on the tower - thanks Ewen, Mark, Doug, John, Bruce and Gerhart.

Next meeting will be in March - not sure if the Thursday or Friday - we will publicise on the web site and in NERG News
